Prepare your retirement
The client, Essenburgh, helps organisations and individuals in the field of healthcare, leadership and retirement to make the right choices.
For this they use scientific research and give training and advice. They reached out to me regarding their training “Retirement In Sight”.
This training is given offline in an extended version, they also wanted to offer an online version to serve a bigger audience and to be able to give this training during COVID.
The goal of the e-Learning is to prepare people who are about to retire for what will come, by taking them by the hand and guiding them through all changes they might face. The offline training is given by six Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) who are all experts in their field.
A large PowerPoint deck was available as well as a lot of assignments. I proposed to use the available materials and align with the SME’s to set up an motivational and engaging e-Learning. The client accepted the proposal and we started the process.
The available content from the PowerPoint deck wasn’t structured in the same way throughout the training so I started with going through it and creating a standard we could use througout the whole e-Learning. This gives consistency and helps the learner while going through it. In total 10 modules were created, teaching people who are about to retire about their current situation, personal values, retirement, finance, friendship and relationships and (mental) health. Each module starts with an introduction video, a deep dive on the content using different learning styles and ends with an assignment.
» Audience: people who will retire within 18 months
» Responsibilities: Instructional Design, e-Learning Development, Video Animation Development, SME Interviews, LMS Installment
» Tools used: Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, Vyond, Camtasia, Canva, LearnDash, WordPress
I developed the e-Learning in Articulate Rise and made some custom animations and questionaires in Articulate Storyline. I edited a few existing video’s in Camtasia and created new animated videos in Vyond and Canva. We had several feedback sessions with all SME’s and the final product has been integrated on the clients learning platform, using WordPress and LearnDash. For the feedback sessions we used Articulate Review,
e-mail and Google Meet.
